From a cooking video to a recipe you can follow

A cooking video can make a dish look irresistible. Cooking it yourself takes more than the picture: you need the complete ingredient list, which quantities belong to which part of the dish, and a clear order of preparation.
This guide helps you spot missing information before you start. Zevkini’s Android app is being developed to make that organizing work easier. The app has not launched on Google Play yet, and this website does not currently extract recipes from links.
Start with the right link
Choose the individual cooking video rather than a profile, search page or playlist. A public post can still be inaccessible because of platform restrictions. Use your own content or a video you have permission to process.
- Instagram: Copy the Reel or food post link. Check its caption for an ingredient list.
- YouTube: Use the specific Short or video. A playlist can contain several unrelated recipes.
- TikTok: Share the cooking video itself, rather than the creator’s profile. Brief on-screen labels may give quantities that are never spoken aloud.
Read ingredients, quantities and their purpose together
Speech, on-screen text and captions can each supply different details. If one cup of milk goes into the dough and another goes into a sauce, combining them into one instruction makes preparation harder. Keep dough, sauce and topping ingredients in their own groups.
A “packet” or “glass” is not a fixed quantity. If the package weight or glass size is unclear, do not treat a guessed conversion as an exact measurement. This matters particularly in baking, where flour, liquid and raising agents need a reliable balance.
Put the steps in cooking order
Short videos may leave out resting, preheating or waiting time. Before starting, work out which equipment needs to be ready and which ingredients need advance preparation. Keep preparation time separate from cooking time.
Each instruction should describe a clear task: soften the onion, add the tomato paste, then pour in the liquid. Treat missing temperatures and times as information to verify, not as facts implied by the edit.
Adjust portions with care
Many ingredients can be doubled when a recipe goes from two servings to four. Cooking time, pan size and oven space do not scale in the same way. Add salt and seasoning gradually and check the texture as you cook.
Where does Zevkini fit?
Zevkini is designed to bring available speech, selected video frames and captions together into an ingredient list and cooking steps. Saving recipes, adjusting portions and following a cooking mode are being prepared for the mobile app.
AI-generated details can be wrong. Check uncertain quantities, allergens and cooking instructions against the source. A generated recipe is not a substitute for professional advice about specific dietary or medical needs.
A quick check before you cook
- Do you have every ingredient?
- Are sauce and main-dish quantities kept separate?
- Are quantities supported by the source, with estimates clearly identified?
- Are the equipment, resting periods and cooking stages clear?
